Family Visa

A Family Visa is required to join family members in the UK for more than 6 months. If a person lives outside the UK, they can apply for a Family Visa to join their spouse, fiancé, partner, child, parent or relative who will provide them with long-term care.

To be eligible for a Family Visa, the applicant must fulfil one of the following three conditions:The family member/spouse must be a British citizen,
The family member/spouse has an Indefinite Leave to Remain or 'resident' status,
Have a 'favourable relationship' with an individual who has refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK.
